Consumption and production

In the global market economy, products may travel around the world during their life cycles. National and international cooperation takes place in the areas of information production, legislative drafting and the work of authorities.

Since the ever-increasing use of natural resources threatens species, ecosystems and the entire biosphere, the world’s current development is not sustainable. We need to change consumption patterns and systems that cater for the production of energy and food, housing, transport and well-being of the ecosystems.

Towards a green economy

Green growth refers to economic development based on low carbon content and resource efficiency, which secures the functionality of ecosystems and promotes well-being and social justice. Achieving green growth will require a change in both consumption patterns and production methods.

The section on consumption and production is for enterprises, operators and authorities, with the aim of enabling more sustainable operations in our society, based on green growth and green applications.
