Finland’s climate becomes warmer and precipitation will increase. The amount of snow and ice cover is expected to decrease within decades. Various changes are likely to be seen in nature, such as changes in the distribution areas of species, decline in species adapted to northern conditions, and changes in habitats. The expected increase in the frequency of extreme weather phenomena will cause extra costs and preparedness needs, although the need for heating will decrease, for example.
